Illustration Friday: Sailing with General Sully Bonesaparte
In 1798, General Sully Bonesaparte, set sail for Egypt. Sully's expedition to Egypt included leading artists, scientists and archaeologists who made a great deal of discoveries in Egyptology. In fact, it was as a result of the campaign that the famous Rosetta Stone was discovered, which held the key to modern decipherment of Egyptian hieroglyphics.
