About Kimberly Coles
Creative Director & Designer
I’m Kimberly Coles, Creative Director and founder of Happy Monday — a multidisciplinary design practice based in Indianapolis that blends strategy, UX/UI, brand systems, and illustration into meaningful visual experiences.
With over 25 years of professional experience working with clients in healthcare, tech, destination, and creative organizations, I build work that is both strategic and visually engaging. Previously, I was Director of UX/UI, leading multi-disciplinary teams and shaping interactive experiences. I’ve worked on both the agency and client sides, helping brands craft their identity across digital and traditional mediums.
Approach
My work is rooted in strategic UX/UI thinking that connects user needs with business goals. My approach combines strategic thinking, user-centered design, and visual storytelling — whether I’m leading a UX project, designing a brand system, creating custom illustrations, or developing surface patterns.
Over a decade ago, I founded Happy Monday, LLC, where I collaborate with agencies and businesses nationwide on high-impact creative projects. I’ve worked with brands like Chase Freedom, Mitsubishi, Indiana University, and Delta Faucet Company, as well as over 20 full-service agencies in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and beyond. For larger projects, I tap into a network of trusted designers, developers, and strategists to ensure seamless execution.
I partner with clients who value strategic clarity, thoughtful design, and visual storytelling — whether the work is UX/UI, brand identity, illustration, surface pattern design, or visual systems. I also frequently serve as a white-label design partner for agencies needing senior-level UX/UI, brand, and illustration support. If you’re exploring a new project, I’d love to hear about it.
