Fable & Folly transforms well-known fables into a cohesive illustration system built from hero scenes, secondary narrative moments, supporting motifs, and coordinating surface pattern elements. Rather than retelling complete stories, the collection focuses on small moments of discovery, persistence, curiosity, cooperation, and growth.

Rooted in hand-drawn ink linework and restrained watercolor washes, the collection reimagines familiar fable characters as a flexible illustration system designed for surface pattern, children's products, licensing, stationery, fabric, wallpaper, and nursery décor.

The Story

For generations, fables have helped children explore big ideas through memorable characters and simple stories.

A fox reaches for grapes hanging just beyond reach.

A tortoise continues steadily down the path.

A dog proudly carries a treasured prize.

Two goats meet at a narrow crossing.

While the stories themselves are centuries old, the themes remain familiar. Curiosity, patience, perseverance, problem-solving, cooperation, and personal growth continue to shape how children understand the world around them.

Rather than illustrating complete narratives, this collection focuses on individual moments and visual fragments that invite imagination and interpretation. Hero illustrations, secondary story moments, and supporting motifs work together to create a narrative pattern system that feels playful, timeless, and approachable.
