Happy Gourmet — Brand Identity & Website Design for a Gourmet Meal Delivery Service

Logo Design · Brand Identity · Website Design · Menu Design

Before meal delivery was a crowded app category with venture capital behind it, Happy Gourmet was doing it the right way — a trained gourmet chef cooking real food for real people in downtown Indianapolis, delivered to your door on weeknights. No algorithm. No ghost kitchen. Just someone who actually knew how to cook, building a business around people who wanted to eat well without spending their evenings in the kitchen.

The brand needed to feel as good as the food — elevated enough to signal quality, approachable enough to feel like a neighbor, not a corporation.

The Work

The engagement started at the very beginning — brand name, tagline, and identity strategy before a single design element was touched. Happy Gourmet and Eat Well · Enjoy Life both came out of that early creative process, and they set the tone for everything that followed.

The identity system starts with a logo built around the hallmarks of a professional kitchen — a chef's hat, a ribbon banner, silverware — all assembled into a mark that feels established and trustworthy, like a restaurant that's been around long enough to earn regulars. The tagline Eat Well · Enjoy Life does exactly what a tagline should: it makes the value proposition feel like an invitation rather than a transaction.

The supporting graphic elements — a chef's hat icon, a cloche, a menu board, a delivery truck — gave the brand a flexible visual vocabulary that could work across the website, menus, and marketing materials. The color palette of deep navy, warm gold, and soft cream reinforces the premium-but-approachable positioning without tipping into stuffy fine dining territory.

The website was built to handle the practical reality of the business: a clean homepage that explained the service quickly, a zip code check for delivery availability, weekly dinner menus updated on a regular cadence, and a clear order flow that got hungry people from "interested" to "order placed" with minimal friction. A secondary path for catering and corporate lunch orders was built in from the start.

The Result

A brand and website that made a one-chef dinner delivery operation look like exactly what it was — a serious, well-run business delivering genuinely good food to people who appreciated it.
