Photo Tamer — Brand Identity & Website Design for a Photo Archiving Service

Logo Design · Brand Identity · Brand Board & Style Guide · Squarespace Website Design · Business Card Design · Packaging Design

There are shoeboxes in attics all over America full of photographs that nobody has looked at in decades — faded, disorganized, slowly deteriorating. Photo Tamer exists to rescue them. Based in Grand Blanc, Michigan, Photo Tamer works with individuals and families to preserve, archive, restore, and organize their print photographs so that the people and moments in them aren't lost to time.

It's a deeply personal service. The brand had to feel like it understood that.

The Work

The identity needed to strike a specific balance — warm and approachable enough to earn the trust of someone handing over irreplaceable family photographs, professional enough to signal that this is a serious archiving service, not a hobbyist side project.

The logo centers on a hand-drawn tree motif — roots and branches — held gently by a pair of hands, with the wordmark set in a bold condensed face that gives the mark presence without weight. The tree is the right metaphor: family, continuity, something that grows and endures. The tagline Digitally Preserving Your Family Memories does the rest of the work, making the service immediately clear to anyone who encounters it for the first time.

The color palette — warm olive, dusty rose, soft cream, and muted taupe — is earthy and nostalgic without feeling dated. It evokes old photographs and keepsake boxes without being sentimental about it.

The brand board captures the full system: primary and secondary logos, watermark, color palette, patterns and textures, and a custom illustration set featuring cameras, flowers, and archival imagery that gives the brand visual flexibility across every touchpoint.

The Squarespace website was built to explain a service that most people have never thought to look for — clear service categories, a welcoming layout, and photography that shows the actual materials Photo Tamer works with: vintage prints, film canisters, photo albums, archival boxes. The business card design carried the brand into the physical world with a promotional offer on the reverse — a smart tactic for a service that lives or dies by personal referrals.

The Result

A brand that makes people feel confident handing over the most irreplaceable things they own — and a website that turns curious visitors into clients.
