Toile Love Story — Custom Hand-Illustrated Wedding Toile de Jouy Pattern (One-Color)
A bespoke hand-illustrated toile pattern drawn from your wedding story — your location, your landmarks, your moments — composed as a classic, continuous illustrated world in the tradition of toile de Jouy.
This is not a pattern of floating icons. It's a scene. A world. Your wedding day, illustrated by hand — scene by scene.
_______
What This Is
Toile Love Story is a fully custom, hand-illustrated toile pattern built around the specific places and moments that make your wedding day yours.
Where the Wedding Day Storybook pattern is built from individual illustrated elements, this Toile Love Story product is composed as a continuous narrative — scenes that share a ground, connect through pathways, and tell a story across the full repeat.
Think of it as your wedding day illustrated the way a classic toile illustrates a pastoral landscape — with depth, movement, and a world you can get lost in.
_______
What's Included in Every Toile Love Story
3 Hero Scenes — Large anchor moments. The scenes that define your wedding day and location. Your ceremony setting, a signature landmark, your first dance or first look.
4 Supporting Scenes — Medium scale. Additional locations or moments meaningful to your story — where you got engaged, your reception venue, a neighborhood that matters, a view you love.
6 Small Fillers — Personal details. The small things that make your day yours. Your pets, florals, rings, shoes, champagne, meaningful objects. These are scattered through the pattern as connective moments between scenes.
_______
Color
Toile Love Story is a one-color line art design.
Classic navy on white is the standard — it's the traditional toile palette and the most versatile for printing and production.
You may select any single color to coordinate with your wedding palette. If you're unsure, I'm happy to advise based on how you plan to use the pattern.
Need the same pattern in a second color? Add an additional color output to receive your pattern delivered in two colorways — for example navy for invitations and a coordinating blush color for gift wrap or day-of details. See add-ons below.
_______

A Note from the Artist
Toile Love Story grew out of a simple observation — the patterns that stay with people aren't the ones with the most elements. They're the ones that feel like somewhere real.
Toile de Jouy has worked for three centuries because it doesn't just show things. It shows a world — connected, inhabited, alive. That's what I set out to do with every Toile Love Story pattern.
Each one is hand-drawn in Adobe Fresco, composed as a continuous narrative rather than a collection of placed objects, and built to hold together at every scale — from a gift tag to a full tablecloth.
Happy Monday is run by illustrator and designer Kimberly Coles — 20+ years working with hospitality brands, destination marketing organizations, and couples who care deeply about how their story is told visually.
