_______

What This Is

Toile Love Story is a fully custom, hand-illustrated pattern built around the specific places and moments that make your wedding story yours. Not a collection of floating objects arranged on a grid — a continuous illustrated world. Scenes that connect through pathways, share a ground, and tell a story across the full repeat. The kind of pattern you notice something new in every time you look at it.

_______

What's Included in Every Toile Love Story

  • 3 Hero Scenes — The big ones. Your ceremony setting, a signature landmark, the moment everyone will recognize when they look closer.

  • 4 Supporting Scenes — The places and moments that fill in the story. Where you got engaged. Your reception venue. The neighborhood that keeps coming up when you talk about you two.

  • 6 Small Fillers — The details that make it unmistakably yours. Your dog. Your florals. The champagne. The shoes. The small things scattered through the pattern that make guests stop and say wait, is that—

_______

Color

Toile Love Story is a one-color line art design — which is exactly how toile is supposed to work.

Classic navy on white is the standard. It's the traditional palette, the most versatile for printing, and honestly the most toile. But you can choose any single color to coordinate with your wedding palette — if you're unsure, I'm happy to advise.

Need two colorways? Add a second color output and get the same pattern delivered in a coordinating color — navy for invitations, blush for gift wrap, whatever makes sense for your day.

_______

How It Works

  1. Share Your Story — Tell me everything. Your venues, your landmarks, your moments, your dog's name. Reference photos of key locations are required — accuracy matters when I'm illustrating your actual places.

  2. Composition Sketch — Before a single scene gets drawn, I map out how everything connects across the repeat. You'll see the layout and confirm the content before illustration begins. No surprises.

  3. Final Illustration — This is where it gets good. I hand-draw the full pattern in Adobe Fresco — every scene, every filler, every connective pathway — built to repeat seamlessly.

  4. Review & Refinement — You'll see the completed pattern and have two rounds of revisions to dial in the details.

  5. Final Delivery — High-resolution digital files, ready for your printer, your stationer, or wherever your pattern is headed next.

_______

Revisions

  • Two rounds of revisions are included.

  • Additional revision rounds or added scenes can be quoted separately.

_______

Deliverables

  • Seamless repeat pattern tile (4000 × 4000 px minimum)

  • High-resolution PNG (transparent background)

  • JPEG on white background

  • Repeat preview showing the pattern tiled

Note:
Everything you need to hand off to a printer, a stationer, or a print-on-demand service. Files are delivered as high-resolution raster files — original working files are not included.

_______

3–5 weeks from project start, once payment is received and reference materials are in hand. Planning a Kentucky Derby wedding? Getting married sooner than that? Rush availability may be possible — reach out before purchasing and we'll figure it out.

Reference Photos — Good reference photos make the difference between a pattern that's accurate and one that's just close. For any venue or location scene, please provide:

A straight-on or slightly angled exterior photo, taken in good natural light with the key architectural details visible — not blocked by landscaping, parked cars, or crowds. Multiple angles are welcome if you're unsure which works best.

Blurry, cropped, or low-resolution photos limit what I can do with accuracy. When in doubt, send more and I'll pick the best one.

A Note from the Artist

Toile Love Story grew out of a simple observation — the patterns that stay with people aren't the ones with the most elements. They're the ones that feel like somewhere real.

Toile de Jouy has worked for three centuries because it doesn't just show things. It shows a world — connected, inhabited, alive. That's what I set out to do with every one of these.

Each pattern is hand-drawn in Adobe Fresco, built as a continuous narrative rather than a collection of placed objects, and designed to hold together at every scale — from an envelope liner to a full tablecloth.

I'm Kimberly Coles — illustrator, designer, and founder of Happy Monday Creative. I've spent 20+ years helping hospitality brands, destination organizations, and couples tell their stories visually. This is my favorite kind of project.
